BRAZIL


The large country in south America and the fifth large country in the world, is located in the eastern half of South America. The people in brazil are famous for their outgoing friendly and fun-loving nature. They love to sing, dance the samba and sunbathe. Brazilian woman are considered to be among the best dressed in the world.
Brazil has three main land regions. The north east has large costal cities. Away from the coast, on higher ground, farmers raise cattle. The biggest cities are near the Atlantic Ocean. They include Sao Paolo with about 11 million people and Rio de Jeneiro with about 6 mullion people.
Many crops are exported, including coffe (brazil  is the largest grower in the world), cotton, soybeans, sugar, cocoa, rice, corn, and fruits.

CALIFORNIA


Every year, millions tourists visit California. California is known for it’s beautiful scenary, warm climate, and excellent food. There are twenty national parks in California. They are visited by over thirty million people every year. Many worlds famous museum are found there, including the Gatty Museum in Malibu and the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art.
The states is devided into two parts, called Northern California and Southern California. San Francisco and Yosemite National Park are located in Notrhern California. San Francisco is surrounded by water on three side and it’s a city with a beautiful bay and several bridge. Its streets are always filled with tourists. On the north end of the bay in Napa Valley, where many excellent wines are produced. San Francisco, there is an area that is famous for it’s computer industries it is called Silicon Valley. Southern California s one of the few places in the world where you can ski in the morning and surf in the afternoon.

THE SMART RABBIT


Once upon a time, a ribbit wanted to cross a river but he could not swim. He had an idea. He swa a boss of crocodiles swimming in the river. The rabbit asked the boss of crocodiles, “How many crocodiles are there in river? The boss of crocodiles answered, “We are twenty in here”.”Where are they?” the rabbit asked for the second time. “What is it for?” the boss of crocodile asked.
“All of you are good, nice, gentle, and kind so I want to make a line in order. Later will know how kind you are,” said the rabbit. Then, the boss of crocodiles called all his friends and asked them to make a line in order from one side to the other side of the river. Just then, the rabbit started to count while jumping from the one crocodiles to another : one … two … three … four .. until temty, and finally, he thanked all crocodiles because he had crossed the river.

WHALE


Whale are big mammals which live in the sea. A thick layer of fat called blubber keeps out yhe cold. A whale’s boy is shaped for easy swimming. It’s front limbs are shaped as flippers. It also has a broad tail flattened from top to bottom, not from side to side like a fish tail.
Unlike fishes, whales must swim to the surface to breath. Before breathing in, they blow out stale air though a blowhole, or two slits on top of the head. Baby whales are born on water. As soon as they are born, they swim up to take a breath.
There are two group of whales toothed whales, like the dolphin mostly catch fish. But killer whales are toothed whales thet attack seals, penguins, and other whales.
Ballen whales are the other main group of whales. Baleen whales include the gigantic blue whake. Each baleen whale cathes tiny shrimp like creatures with a special sieve. this is made of a horny substances called baleen or whale bone. When the opens its mounth, long bakeens plates hang from its upper jaw like the teeth of a giant comb. A large whale can swallow over a tone of these tiny krill at one time. Hunting by men has made biggest whales very scarce.

SNAKES


Snakes are reptiles. They belong to the same group as lizards but from a sub-group of their own. Snakes often sunbathe on rocks in the warm weather. This is because they are cold-blooded so they need the sun’s warmth to heat their body up.
A snakes usually feeds on frogs, rabbit, or chickens. A boa snakes can give you a bear hug so powerful that crush every single bone in your body. Cobras protect themselsevs by scaring their enemis. The flying snakes glides away from danger. Their ribs spread apart and the skin stretches out.

LORO JONGGRANG


Loro jonggrang was the daughter of giant king called Ratu Baka. She had a proposal from a young noble, Bandung Bandawasa. He was handsome wealthy, and powerful but Loro jonggrang didn’t want to marry him. Ratu Baka gave a task to Bandung Bandawasa. She had to make 1,000 temples in one night, to prepare his marriage to Loro Jonggrang.
Bandung Bandawasa used his supranatural power to call the genies, and he made the temples in unbeliveble speed. Loro Jonggrang saw that the task was almost complete. Than, she ordered her servants to help her hit the rice puncher, and made the sound of cooking. These actions wouldmake the genies think that morning had come
They would run away. Bandung Bandawasa was angr with Loro Jonggrang. He already finished 9999 temples, and when he built the 1,000, he cursed Loro Jonggrang into a stone statue to fill the 1,000 temples.
